Tocal College Open Days

Our College Open Days are a wonderful opportunity to visit Tocal and experience first hand all that it can offer students who are eager for a rewarding career in agriculture, agribusiness or horse breeding and training.

The Open Days are held on the Fridays of the winter and spring school holidays and provide prospective students, their families and carers an ideal forum to visit the College and get a feel for what life as a student is really like. Should you require accommodation while attending the Open Days, Tocal College has a range of excellent and affordable accommodation options. These include motel rooms, flats and cottages. Please contact our accommodation booking team for further information at tocal.bookings@dpi.nsw.gov.au.

Each day's activities include:

  • an overview of full-time courses,
  • a description of career opportunities,
  • information on fees and financial assistance,
  • inspection of College campus facilities,
  • tour of Tocal's commercial farms and training facilities,
  • opportunities to chat with staff and also undertake an informal interview (if desired).

2020 Open Days

  • Friday 10 & 17 July
  • Friday 2 & 9 October

Although precautions and alterations to the event will be made to ensure the risk of COVID-19 transmission is managed we still intend to include a welcome morning tea, presentation on courses and career options, walking tour of the campus, and bus tour of the College farms. Interviews with staff will still be conducted during the day and lunch can purchased from the Dining Hall at $10 pp if booked in advance.

If interested and in preparation for the event we ask you to please observe the following:

  • The total number of attendees at each Open Day will need to be limited so please realise we can only accept one parent/carer per prospective student.
  • Prior to the Open day we will require each prospective student and their parent/carer to confirm, via reply to an email, that they comply with specific conditions of attendance, including a health declaration.
  • When booking please provide the following details for the prospective student and their parent/carer: name, mobile contact number, email address.

While we regret needing to limit the number of guests per prospective student it is still possible for an extended family group to stay overnight in our guest accommodation. (COVID safety measures apply). Please contact tocal.bookings@dpi.nsw.gov.au for more information.

Disclaimer: Tocal warns that this event may be postponed or cancelled if government advice or the status of COVID-19 prevent it from occurring on the currently planned dates.
