Tocal Homestead

The Homestead precinct is a collection of heritage farm buildings which is located on the Tocal property. While most of our accommodation, the Hall and the Chapel are located in the College grounds, the Homestead precinct is just distant enough to be exclusive, allowing guests to be caught up in the beautiful charms of colonial times. If a rustic farm or garden wedding is more to your taste, then a wedding at the Homestead is worth exploring.

About Tocal

The Tocal property is on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua people, close to the Paterson River. It consists of a 2,200 hectare property with commercial and demonstration farm enterprises including beef cattle, dairy, sheep, stock horses and free range eggs. Tocal Homestead is a living historic precinct and a popular wedding venue, centred around an iconic 1845 homestead and featuring a remarkable collection of well-preserved colonial farm buildings, including a barn designed by Australian architect Edmund Blacket. Tocal College was established on the property in 1965 as an agricultural college which still operates today, with well equipped training rooms and outdoor facilities including a covered arena. The campus was designed by architects Philip Cox and Ian McKay and features some iconic structures including the chapel and the EA Hunt Hall, which seats up to 700 people. The property also incorporates the Glendarra farm on the other side of Tocal Road, which has conference rooms and motel style accommodation set amongst the green pastures of Tocal Dairy.

There are few venues as impressive as Tocal. Tocal is suitable for large scale events, conferences, corporate events, community groups, retreats, weddings, funerals and meetings of all sizes.

If you would like to have your event at Tocal, our management team will carefully consider your proposal, to ensure the event is in the best interests of the site, local community, and our visitors, and that it will not adversely impact this significant historic site.
