    Fee free traineeships from 1 January 2020

    The NSW Government has expanded its support for trainees and apprentices by waiving the $1000 Smart and Skilled co-contribution fee for traineeships. The subsidy will cover the cost of the training (i.e. the qualification price). Fee free training will be available to commencing trainees from 1 January 2020 until 31 December 2023. Trainees will be eligible for up to three fee free traineeships over the duration of the initiative.

    The 2019 Approved Australian Stock Horse Sale at Tocal College resulted in strong competition for the thirteen horses offered. The horses were sold for above average prices based on Tocal’s sales over the past 12 years.

    The biggest book of 2019! Honey and Pollen Flora of South-Eastern Australia was launched at the Tocal Beekeeper's Field Day and the first 100 copies sold out in 45 minutes.

    Celebrating 30 Years of the ARTP

    On Thursday 26th of September 2019 Tocal College Yanco Campus is celebrating 30 years of training from the Aboriginal Rural Training Program. ARTP has delivered culturally aware vocational education to Aboriginal people in NSW and other states since 1989.

    Students inspire Hunter Women

    At the recent Hunter Women’s Network ‘Breaking the Barriers’ scholarship presentations, Tocal students Rachel Hyde and Philadelphia Coleman were congratulated on their inspiring videos and speeches. Tocal staff Carol Rose, Justine Baird and Jill Clayton were there to cheer them on. Philadelphia won the resilience award, and Rachel was the runner up in the Scholarship.
