Before registering, check that this forklift course suits you. You’ll need to be 18 or older and have a SafeWork NSW Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN) before training.
The course involves basic physical tasks, like getting on and off the forklift and staying aware of your surroundings. Entry Requirements
Participants must:
- obtain a SafeWork AEN (assessment enrolment number) prior to attending training. For more information, visit Safe Work NSW.
- be 18 years of age
- have the physical capability to safely operate a forklift including – entering and exiting vehicle, monitoring environment for hazards
- have mental alertness and the ability to follow complex safety instructions
- Not have disqualifying medical conditions that could impair operation or personnel
Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital capability
- Reading: checking and interpreting data and safety instructions
- Writing: completing closed book examination for Safework NSW (if applying for licence)
- Numeracy: ability to do basic calculations relating to lift requirements such as weight and nature of loads, capacity of forklift
- Oral Communication/hearing: maintaining communication with instructor while following safety instructions, providing answers to verbal questions
- Digital Literacy: N/A
