Conferences and retreats
Tocal is an ideal venue for retreats, conferences, seminars and training for business and community groups. The Campus is located on 2,200 hectares in a tranquil rural setting within easy reach of Maitland, Newcastle and the attractions of the Hunter Valley. The Glendarra conference room is ideal for groups that require accommodation close by, while the main campus offers a range of room sizes and facilities to meet your needs. We can also provide your groups with on-site catering.
Special large events
Tocal is a unique location for your corporate event or conference. We can provide locations for breakout rooms for groups of all sizes along with the EA Hunt Hall for the presentation space. We can also offer special areas for your evening meal and entertainment such as the View Paddock.
EA Hunt Hall
At the entrance to the College stands the magnificent EA Hunt Hall, the great hall of the college. The stunning traditional woodwork of the roof beams, polished floors and presentation stage make this the perfect venue for large functions and ceremonies. Equipped with a sound system and two data projectors, the hall can seat 700 people when set up as an auditorium.
Accommodation
Will your group members need to stay locally? We offer affordable single rooms and motel style suites, and all with convenient access to shared kitchenettes and common rooms. Groups that book on-campus accommodation are invited to use our community swimming pool from September to April.

Hayshed Function Centre
The Hayshed Function Centre is one of our carefully restored heritage buildings situated in the Homestead precinct of Tocal, surrounded by a fine collection of colonial buildings. The function centre has plenty of space including a mezzanine area for groups to break out and team build. Groups are also invited to do a tour of the beautiful original Homestead or take a walk through the grounds to see our other buildings, our wetlands, our heritage spotted pigs, our orchard and our gardens. Bookings can be made through Tocal Homestead, and groups using the Hayshed Function Centre will be catered by Sprout catering.
