About this course

The Manage Risk in Land Use Planning Course is designed to step you through the process of identifying, analysing, and managing risk in the context of land use conflict. The course has been specifically developed for rural and peri-urban areas of NSW where agricultural activities may be involved however the learnings can be applied to other land use situations.

Working through the course you will apply your learnings to different land use scenarios and in the process undertake and review a Land Use Conflict Risk Assessment, identifying, analysing and mitigating risks.

Details

Throughout the training you will acquire the performance evidence, skills, and knowledge required to maximise results and minimise risks related to land use conflict. The skills learnt are applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State and Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.

During this unit you will:

  • research, analyse and interpret available information.
  • develop an understanding of the international standard for risk management.
  • determine the context of risk of land use conflicts, assess your options, and develop, review and evaluate a risk management plan.

The course is fully online and self-paced.

You have 12 weeks to complete the course, with an average study time of 2 to 3 hours per week.

The course consists of the following topics:

Module 1 - Introduction to risk and establishing the risk management context

Module 2 - Plan for risk management

Module 3 - Manage risk

Module 4 - Evaluate the risk management plan
