About this course

Summary session of Exploring Beyond (fossil) Diesel series

The value of and need for low carbon liquid fuels became clear as we Explored Beyond Fossil Diesel. While other power sources will cover much of the futures needs the sheer number of diesel engines in use today across industries with large horsepower requirements means they will be around for many years and cannot be quickly replaced. Our exploration journey led us to "discover" "renewable diesel" - a low carbon drop in replacement that is warranted by engine manufacturers. Making fuel from existing carbon prevents new carbon being added to the atmosphere. This solution can power us sustainably while the other parts of the energy transition develop. This Summary session outlines key bits from the 7 longer sessions.
