Tocal and the Lower Hunter are rain affected but for the benefit of those who can safely travel to Tocal, and who are unable to postpone to another date, we will still be holding our first, Youth Education Open Day for the year, this Friday, 8th of July.

Rain has currently eased and Forecasts suggest a “slight chance of a shower” on Friday. Most activities will proceed as normal but unfortunately our usual farm tour would require a boat to see it all!

It is recommended all our expected guests be careful on the roads and check their travel plans in advance e.g. Flood | NSW State Emergency ServiceNew South Wales Weather and Warnings Summary (bom.gov.au)Live Traffic NSW.

Tocal is expected to be accessible by road from Maitland but other major roads in the Maitland area have been closed and alternative routes needed. These have caused delays and so only essential travel is recommended. More specific local traffic advice can be gained from Maitland City Council | Facebook.

Please remember, we have other Open Days during the year if it is safest for you to postpone. If you have already booked but now choose not to attend, please email tocalyouth.ed@dpi.nsw.gov.au with your name and cancellation details as soon as possible.
