Last week we had a big week of ag workforce training (which continued into the weekend) with 122 people enrolled in short courses in the following topic areas:
- farm safety
- vertebrate pest management
- chemicals
- beginning in bees (weekend course)
- drones + farm mapping and data collection.
A big part of this was a full week of training at our Wagga Wagga Farm Safety Week, so well done to the Yanco Campus team. The training covered tractor operation, chemical application, chainsaw operation, working safely at heights, confined spaces, small powered machinery and workplace health and safety.
Leading agricultural organisations AgriFutures Australia and Hutcheon & Pearce supported the initiative by sponsoring morning teas and lunches throughout the week, creating opportunities for participants, trainers and industry representatives to connect, share experiences and strengthen industry networks.
Eligible participants were funded through the NSW Government's AgSkilled program.
