About this course

Irrigation 101 is an initiative of the Sustaining the Basin Irrigated Farm Modernisation (STBIFM) Program funded through the Australian Government's Sustainable Rural Water Use and Infrastructure Program and delivered by NSW Department of Primary Industries. STBIFM aims to increase water use efficiency in the northern NSW catchments of the Murray Darling Basin, helping to improve the long term sustainability of regional communities in this area.

The ten Irrigation 101 modules include:

  • Irrigation background, concepts and practice
  • Work health & safety
  • Surface irrigation and distribution systems
  • Pressurised irrigation systems
  • Furrow irrigation and siphons
  • Flow control and metering devices
  • Soils
  • Introduction to plants
  • Pumps
  • Irrigation scheduling.

Participants who complete all ten modules will receive a Certificate of Completion.
