About this course

People who work with pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals unsupervised are required to hold a current chemical card.

You work with chemicals, some of which are hazardous. You often work alone, and it’s on your head if something goes wrong. Complete approximately 20-30 hours of self-paced study within 12 weeks, and you will know how to store, transport and use hazardous chemicals.

The course aims to develop knowledge and skills in:
  • Understanding the legal framework surrounding safe use of chemicals
  • Reading and interpreting labels and SDS directions for safe transport, handling and storage
