About this course

Free quad bike and side-by-side vehicle (SSV) training is offered through the NSW Quad Bike Safety Improvement Program to eligible:

  • Farmers, small businesses and their workers, and
  • Agricultural students aged 16 years and over

These free courses will conclude by June 2023. There are limited spots available, register your interest now. Training is available across all of NSW. Both quad bike and SSV training will be scheduled at a parcel of crown land closest to where you live, or Tocal College can bring the training to your property if you organise a group of six or more participants.

Why should I attend this free course?

It is a work health and safety (WHS) law that anyone using a quad bike or SSV at work must have adequate information, training, instruction and/or supervision to safely operate and maintain the vehicle as well as understand the risks associated with using these vehicles. The free one-day and nationally recognised courses aim to develop knowledge and skills in:

  • the safe operation of quad bikes and SSVs,
  • undertaking pre-start and shut-down procedures, and
  • carrying out routine checks and maintenance.
