About this course

Free quad bike and side-by-side vehicle (SSV) training is offered through the NSW Quad Bike Safety Improvement Program to eligible:

  • Farmers, small businesses and their workers, and
  • Agricultural students aged 16 years and over

Training is available across all of NSW. Both quad bike and SSV training will be scheduled at a parcel of crown land closest to where you live, or Tocal College can bring the training to your property if you organise a group of six or more participants.

Why should I attend this free course?

It is a work health and safety (WHS) law that anyone using a quad bike or SSV at work must have adequate information, training, instruction and/or supervision to safely operate and maintain the vehicle as well as understand the risks associated with using these vehicles. The free one-day and nationally recognised courses aim to develop knowledge and skills in:

  • the safe operation of quad bikes and SSVs,
  • undertaking pre-start and shut-down procedures, and
  • carrying out routine checks and maintenance.
