Soil is the lifeblood of your farm. Much of what comes from your farm is a result of how healthy it is. Three months of self-paced online learning with Tocal can turn you into a way better soil manager.
The course aims to develop knowledge and skills in:
- conducting research about soils
- interpreting soils tests
- developing soil improvement programs
- undertaking soil monitoring
- documenting a soil management plan.

This course involves both written assignments and a mapping exercise.

This course is delivered online.
Students must have:
- access to a farm enterprise to complete assessment tasks
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or New Zealand citizenship
- adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
- basic to intermediate computing skills, and reliable internet speed.
This course is aligned to the national unit of competency AHCSOL505 Monitor and manage soils for production projects.
